Privacy policy
Effective September 23, 2026. This policy describes MICHAEL: Bible Battles, operated by the MICHAEL team. Privacy questions: samuel@matsonshouse.com.
Information we use
- Account information from email, Apple, or Google sign-in, including your provider identifier and email where supplied; your chosen username, display name, and profile details.
- Reading activity: passages, bookmarks, saved Scripture, reflections, verification attempts, reading time, streaks, and progress.
- Community activity: friendships, invitations, memberships, messages, shared Scripture, prayer requests, reactions, competition scores and rankings.
- Security and support information: abuse reports, blocks, service request logs, and information you provide when contacting support.
- A device notification token if you enable notifications, and verified purchase/entitlement records where applicable.
Scripture reflections, prayer requests, and messages may reveal religious beliefs or other sensitive information. Share only what you want the recipients to see.
How information is used
We use this information to authenticate accounts, synchronize reading progress, run fair competitions, deliver community features, honor access rights, and investigate abuse or technical issues. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.
Who can see it
Your profile and ranking can be visible to signed-in users. Messages and shared content are visible to the relevant room or community. Community leaders may see member participation within their community. Private saved notes are not shared unless you explicitly share them.
Supabase provides authentication, database, storage, and realtime infrastructure. Apple and Google process sign-in under their own privacy policies. Apple handles any App Store payment information; MICHAEL does not receive your card number. Our public help website is hosted by GitHub Pages, whose infrastructure may log web requests. Service providers may process data outside your country.
Retention and deletion
Account data is retained while your account is active. Use Profile → Settings → Delete account to remove your account and associated private data and authored content. Deleting your account also removes your battles and communities you own, including their shared content. Service backups and security logs may persist according to provider retention schedules; limited records may be retained where legally required. Contact us for access, correction, or deletion questions.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, leave communities, block users, delete saved items, and turn notifications off in iOS Settings. Signing out does not delete server data. Deleting your account does not cancel subscriptions billed by Apple.
Children
MICHAEL is not directed to children under 13. Do not use it if you are below the age required to consent to its use in your country. If a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
Changes
We will update this page when the policy changes. Material changes will be communicated in the app where appropriate.
